Tacoma Musicians’ Networking and Holiday Party

Author et2kah   Filed under Music   November 19, 2010

Tacoma based musicians, fans and supporters, this party is for you. Take the night off to party with your fellow musicians, be treated to five diverse bands, win door prizes from sponsors, and generally get your holiday party on!

SoCo Lime presents the Tacoma Musicians’ Networking and Holiday Party produced by As You Are Entertainment & Shock Treatment Management, 7 PM, December 10, 2010 at Hell’s Kitchen, 928 Pacific, in Tacoma. It’s a party for the Tacoma Music Scene, and all of its constituents – and you’re invited!
We’ve asked all local performers, agents, labels, studios, and fans to take the night off, come down to Hell’s Kitchen, see a great cross-genre show and be showered with great prizes and raffles. Our T-Town bands won’t be loading in and out; they’ll be able to have some conversations with others working in the same industry at the local level, meet other bands for future shows, and enjoy some entertainment from outside the area.

Not only will the music knock your socks off, but SoCo Lime will be featured in great cocktail specials, and we’ll be drawing door prizes from many sponsors including Union Jack Amps, Hourglass Records, Northwest Convergence Zone, Supernova Hair and Tattoo, S&W Repair LLC Auto & Truck, Ruby Sneakers Photography, and Shock Treatment Management, all night long.
Additionally, we are publishing a Musician’s directory, packed full of band booking info & URL’s, record label & studio contacts, venue info & contacts, and sponsor information. Musicians and other music industry professionals can ensure their inclusion with advance ticket purchase, @ $5.99 including all fees here: Brown Paper Tickets

We’re importing some of the brightest young names from all over the regional music scene to play this show, and entertain our hometown musicians for an evening. DJ Parallel (Seattle) & Neema (Seattle) will keep the show rolling with a great array of Electronica, Hip-Hop, and dubstep in several short sets between band sets; Tubaluba (Seattle) will bring Soul, Funk, and some New Orleans swagger to the scene; Angie and The Car Wrecks (Montesano, WA) will rock the show with a psychobilly attitude; young rockers, 1776 (Portland) look to continue their rock & roll ascension, with their 60’s garage sound. Last, but not least, punk rockers Poorsport (Seattle) finish off the evening with a full force garage/punk sound. There is something for everyone here!

We hope to see you there! Drop by our Facebook event, RSVP, and invite all your musician/industry friends, if that is your thing.

Laguna, Live at Tost

Laguna will be performing at Tost, opening up for two great bands, Satellite by Night and Bucket of Honey.

Laguna: The music group Laguna is the creation of songwriter/drummer/programmer Shane Peck and vocalist/lyricist Lydia Nor. The music style combines art-pop, electronica, ambient, reggae/dub, soca and some Jazz elements. The band was officially formed in 1998. The current line-up includes bassist/arranger Noah Wilson, keyboardist Markus von Prause and alto saxophone player/percussionist Brian Hartman. They just released a new recording, “Volcano”.

Bucket of Honey: This Neoacoustifunk HipHop duo is made up of one part Nate Bogopolsky AKA Nate B, one part Annie Jantzer. Beginning his musical career as a singer, Nate B writes most of his tunes with a simple guitar strumming accompaniment, thus spawned the easy to swallow sound and feel of much of Bucket of Honey’s music. He has been involved in the music scene in Seattle for many years playing in groups such as Seattle Opera Company, The Dickens Carolers, The Peeon Yabutts, and Kickshaw. The other half of Bucket of Honey, flute and vocals, is a brain damaged cocky farm girl who get’s bucked off the horse and gets right back on none the wiser. That same gusto and lack of shame led Annie Jantzer to pursue a career in theatre. With a BA in theatre arts, she moved to Seattle and randomly joined forces with Nate. The rest, as they say, is history.

Satellite By Night: Satellite by Night’s musical influences may be as far reaching as the origins of its members; Okinawa, Chile, and the USA. CJ, Gabe, Mas and Mike cite folk, funk, dub, rock, metal, trance, soul, and ambient musical styles as their personal influences, and the band’s self-labeled “folk-fusion groove” sound is cohesive yet diverse.
