Ahndrea and all:
My recommendation is to drive north part way to Pemby from Whistler with bikes in a car, and park on any of the many logging roads. Ride a bike from there - maybe it could be your campsite if you're dirtbaggin' it. After a day (or 3) of music festival'ing, I don't think I could manage 40 miles of riding r/t. Esp on 99, packed with other cars and nutjobs.

Greaaaaaaaaaaat idea/recommendation to bring a bike and plan on commuting to and from Whistler for this event. I've ridden the road to and from (about 20 miles or so each way, uphill on the way back to Whistler I think? either way, one direction is for the most part a climb, which means the way to Pemberton is mostly downhill yippeeee!), and agree this'll be the most efficient mode of transportation and one that'll leave you with the most mobility and freedom.

Wow - what a big event for Pembie, let alone Western Canadia. Awesome to see good ole' Tragically Hip on the bill, these Canadian rockstars have been around fo-evah and have always put out great stuff.

I might go to _Nester's_ for booze, but I dunno about Pemby. That's a bit of a haul.
Regardless, I think the operative acronym for that weekend is "BYOB".

I always thought Pemberton was where you went to get a bottle of Vodka and a case of Kokanee when you were at Whistler so you wouldn't have to pay the inflated resort prices.
It's funny Sam Roberts is on this Sasquatch competition bill. They were one of the bands that got cancelled due to the huge hailstones at the 2006 'Squatch show. Having won Canadian album of the year later that same year, they are indeed the heavy hitters of the Great White North.. Wha?!?! Whaddaya mean you never heard of them...?
