If you like Blackalicious, Lyrics Born or J5, this is the show for you. I don’t know why their previous album, “Spirit in Stone,” didn’t get more attention.
That they are playing with a live band could make or break this show. I’ve only seen ‘em once, supporting De La Soul, and they didn’t something I’ve never seen before or since - Vursatyl rapping to himself via a DVD on screen behind him, which was projecting video of him doing a different part of the live song.
I too was at the show where they opened for De La Soul. It was real good, but the sound at the Premier sucked balls (much better know as Showbox SODO).
Spirit in Stone was one of my favorite releases of 2003, fa sho.
