Finally… something to like about Mudhoney
now I know in the past I’ve gotten down on Mudhoney, but I was scanning along the Seattle blogosphere today when I came across this heartwarming explanation of where Mudhoney got their name. It was posted about a week ago on Bring the Noise. I’d like to thank them for this moment of enlightenment. I may have to rethink my entire opinion of the “hun” now.
For a taste of evil… see Mudhoney!!!

Mudhoney is awesome! Or at least live they’re a riot. The only disc I think anyone who isn’t a Mudhoney needs to hear is the SubPop reissue of SuperFuzz BigMuff which also has all their early singles (a super fucked up cover of Sonic Youth’s already ultra spooky “Halloween” included.)
Have you checked out this disc?
“Jesus Christ come and save my soul!”
I can’t believe someone from Seattle wouldn’t know that Mudhoney comes from a Russ Myer movie… I guess I’ve known it for like 16 years? Early Mudhoney ruled, way better than 99% of the bands that got labeled grunge. Like the person above said, SuperFuzz BigMuff! It’s right up there with Nirvana’s Bleach in the top 5 records of that era from Seattle. Man, their shows at The Offramp, Hub, etc. DESTROYED. “Oh God, how I love to hate!”
