Grand Archives Entice, Fuel Archivism
One of my most anticipated releases of 2008 just got a bit………more anticipated. Seattle rock-pop quintet Grand Archives recently released an album cover and track listing of their semi-self-titled debut, The Grand Archives. Sub Pop will drop it like it’s hot (which it very might well be) on the 19th of February. In the meantime, all you good ‘n loyal record buyers can sample a couple new tracks on their myspace page, which seem to be a bit, how shall we say, sunnier—yes, sunnier—than some of the other songs with which we might be familiar from live shows and such (i.e. “Sleepdriving”, “Torn Foam Blue Couch”). I like them.
Also, don’t be silly and forget their upcoming show with the group’s bar buddies, Sera Cahoone & S, at the Triple Door, February 20th. It’s too bad that this is the venue, I’ve heard it’s the worst in town. Total buzzkill, huh Kev?
Anyway, just thought you should know. Click the “more” button for “official” track listing (and by “official”, I mean “o-FFIC-ial”).

Yo, when your shortie is really a shortie, there is nothing better than rocking a show at the Triple Door. When everyone can see everything not just the back of the sweaty dude directly in front… EVERYONE’s happy. But yeah, being treated like your a VIP by waiters in crisp white shirts and having full show table service including food from Wild Ginger and booze really sucks.
Yeah, that sounds horrible. Unfortunately, I’ll probably be subjected to it for this here show.
