I may have undersold Dead Confederate–it was really a pretty good set. I just couldn’t help thinking how grunge it sounded and how much the lead singer sounded like Kurt Cobain.

The Valley – Sometimes I judge bands on the basis of whether or not they’d get beat-up playing a biker bar in South Dakota – for better or for worse. The Valley would definitely walk away scotch free.

Feral Children – Super excited about this band.I thought the two drums and keyboards may have been slightly off, but was told that this was the intention (hey – YOU try playing in a band with two drummers). They really hit their stride towards the end of the set. Can’t wait to see them again.

Dead Confederate – the strongest set of the night. Honestly, they pretty much blew me away. For the first time ever I found myself wishing it was 1993 again.

Yeasayer – I thought I was at a Christian rock concert – but, ummm, with a lot more smoke in the air.
