ABOUT BORN ANCHORS
March 2007: Formed a band
April : Wrote Songs
May : Recorded demos of songs
June : Recorded five song EP
July : Finished artwork, photos and manufacturing of EP
August : Record released Aug. 14, booking local shows as well as tour.
Born Anchors formed in late March of 2007 after members Mckinley Parker and Justin Martinez previous project dis-banded. After a short search, Gregory Scott joined the group and they adopted the moniker “Born Anchors”.
Born Anchors entered Egg studios along with Seattle Producer Johnny Sangster on June 14th to begin recording there first EP. Finishing the recording at Sangster owned Bardal Studio and mixing at Electro Kitty later that month, the band finished the process about four months since forming.
Chris Thompson, local painter and tattoo artist, famous for his work on Sunny Day Real Estates debut record “Diary”, as well as their third record “How it Feels to be Something on”, contributed the album art work for the Born Anchors self titled EP.
Hey, why not, since you asked for it..
BEER SANDWICH
Daily reader, first time commenter, putting on my pimp hat…
My band is The Heat Exchange and we just finished our self-released, full-length debut, “Progress ruins everything, but what else is there?”. Here are some downloads from it:
Edith Came Quickly
Force of Nature
NAMSAC(No-one Appreciates My Smart-Ass Commentary)
Winter Lemmings

* who do you sound like?
We bridge the gap between indie and classic rock, delivering high energy material with a dissonant blues groove. Think Built to Spill, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, The Black Keys, and The White Stripes and mix in some Hendrix, Cream and Zeppelin and you’re getting close.
* where are you playing?
Our next show is at The Monkey Pub on Sat, 9/15.
We just played the Central last week and did a cover for the first time - Led Zeppelin’s Celebration Day (ignoring your post of 7/10…). There’s a video of it on our home page:
http://www.heatexchangemusic.com along with one of our song Force of Nature.
And I forgot…
*who do you like:
All the bands above, obviously, really digging the new Ted Leo album. Also liking The Thermals, The Cops, Cold War Kids, and lots of jazz lately (Mingus, Art Blakely, Coleman Hawkins), and back on a Beatles kick too.

Went into studio last Saturday night and cut a two-organ/drum jam, added some vocal & bass overdubs to that; remixed “Destroy All Planets” a jam from last winter and renamed it “Birth Canal”; added vocal and drum overdubs to recent swanky living room jam, “Redlight District”; much other various jamming. Hopefully something out someday to follow-up the first 50 edition album (of which copies are still available!)

We are the Lund Bros. Two of us are brothers, one is not. We play pop rock, not power pop, but who’s counting? This weekend we have two shows.
1. Friday August 24th at the 4th Ave Tavern in Olympia.
2. Monday August 27th at the Sunset Tavern in Ballard.
Come to both, win a prize!*
We are in the process of putting together our next record. Look for it within the next 30 years or so.
We sound like Cheap Trick, Beatles, Badfinger, Raspberries, Queen, and bands of that vein. We sing a lot and self-gratify with lots of chops and riffs.
It’s fun to play in this band.
Seattle bands we like: Young Sportsmen, Tripwires, the ever-AWESOME Llama. Can’t forget Girl Trouble, Paul Lynde Fan Club, Twink and RBB, and many many more.
* actually, there is no prize!
Right back at ya, Lund Bros.
