This venue was — without a doubt — the most unconventional I’ve seen used to host a major act. Who can forget an indie band playing to a thousand hipsters in a room filled with goat exhibits?

And the band? They were resplendent in their Deerhoof-ness, which is to say they sounded great in the Hall of North American Mammals, but they’re not my cup of tea, which is to say they have a very unique sound and they know how to rock but their songs don’t get stuck in my head which may be good or bad, I don’t know. Whatever the case, to pick nits from a distance, the singer seems at least a little guilty of borrowing from Bjork.

If anyone knows the name of the last number they played, I’d like to know it. Maybe it is my cup of tea, and I just need more exposure.

Didn’t catch Autolux’s set. Overall, I’m glad I went. I wish Seattle had more shows outside of the usual Grimy Seattle Clubâ„¢ circuit.
