Ross Beamish is a twentysomething Seattle singer/songwriter. Listen to Every Day That I Wake Up.

NWMB Where did you come from? When?

Beamish I grew up in a town called Elma. I spent a little time in Bellingham, and now I live in Seattle on top of a night club.

NWMB Influences? What do you listen to at home/car/headphones?

Beamish I love listening to vinyl when I’m at home. The current rotation is something like Jens Lekman, Kris Kristofferson, Arcade Fire, Antony and the Johnsons, Early day Miners, Tom waits (is the best on vinyl).

In the car I listen to Hayden, Iron and wine, Damien Jurado, Bright Eyes, Sparta, Kings of Convenience, Shins, anything thats good for the summer or driving or being up beat.

The headphones are usually for listening to newer stuff that Im getting on podcasts, or downloading. My absolute favorite most talented new musicians or bands are; Eric Messler, a good friend of mine from south Dakota, Carrie Biell, El perro Del Mar, Evening Plains, Levi Fuller, Tulips Antiques Alpacas, the list goes on.

NWMB Any discography?

Beamish My first album will be done by the end of the summer. I will be recording it at home, with friends, collaborations from local musicians, and a good friend of mine will hopefully be doing some cool cover art for it.

NWMB Other bands/projects?

Beamish I currently am involved in the live performance of Tulips Antiques Alpacas, which is the music of my guitar player Sean Beszhek.

NWMB Upcoming shows?

Beamish I will be playing at Skylark in West Seattle [3803 Delridge Way SW Cross Street: Third Avenue SW] on April 5th. I am planning to play a couple festivals this summer, but I will be focusing mostly on the album during the summer months. [NWMB: go, you’ll love it. It’s free, and Ross’ voice will amaze you.]

NWMB What’s the future look like?

Beamish Excellent.
