NWMB Influences? What do you listen to at home/car/headphones?
Reed I am influenced by all different types of sound and music, ranging from early psychedelic kraut rock to the hidden gems of world music to Japanese no wave post punk to the most extreme noise. Moe! Staiano — I played a show with him at 21 Grand in Oakland. He sets up all sorts of drums and such and makes percussive noise collages. He has a huge box of cymbals that he just spills on the ground and hits. Then he runs around the crowd, wrapping up everyone in police tape. Before his show a fight broke out between some crusties and the people who ran the venue and Moe! hit a chair with a baseball bat. I also get to play with his other band, Mute Socialite, in San Francisco at the Hemlock on May 17th…so, that is to say. Moe! is cool and go support him at Vera when he’s in town.
