Moe! Staiano — I played a show with him at 21 Grand in Oakland. He sets up all sorts of drums and such and makes percussive noise collages. He has a huge box of cymbals that he just spills on the ground and hits. Then he runs around the crowd, wrapping up everyone in police tape. Before his show a fight broke out between some crusties and the people who ran the venue and Moe! hit a chair with a baseball bat. I also get to play with his other band, Mute Socialite, in San Francisco at the Hemlock on May 17th…so, that is to say. Moe! is cool and go support him at Vera when he’s in town.
